Road Trip is a year 2000 movie that was hilarious but underneath the radar of most movie people. It had Tom Green in it. And Sean William Scott. The main character is Brecken Meyer, though most movie lovers do not even know this guy's name. He starred in a college movie that was a smash hit. It is about a guy who is breaking up with his girlfriend because she lives so far away. He accidentally sends her a sex tape in the mail, and then he and his friends have to rush to arrive there before the package arrives at her address. They decide to take a road trip and complete his task at the same time, There are a variety of scenes and settings that the boys go to on their road trip across America. The film is interesting in that it is told through the first person perspective of the college tour guide, Tom Green. He is recounting it to his tour guide group and telling the story of the movie like that. The characters are all lovable and have their own personalites. There is the smart one, the wild one, the stable one, and the nerdy one. A nerdy friend of Josh decides to join them on this road trip and they use his dad's car. There were many memorable scenes in this. Sean William Scott was becoming a mega star from American Pie and Dude Where's My Car? right around this same time. The film is set in Ithaca University, in New York. Most of the movie they are traveling in their car going from Ithaca to Austin, TX where his girlfriend goes to college. The film has it all: sex tape, boobs, fighting, parties, smoking weed, school, driving, animals. Tom Green's hand gets chomped on by a snake in his dorm room. The snake eating a rat is one of the subplots of the movie. It is the most enduring scene in it for sure. Most people have seen that snake biting that guys hand in the terrarium. Because it was so ridiculous. This is the mastery of Tom Green. There is a dance scene that is unforgettable to that song "It's Tricky" by Run Dmc. There is a weed smoking scene also with the old man and the college guy on the front porch of their house that is unique and funny. There are many opportunities for humor in this movie. There is even a date-auction scene where people bid on getting a date with one of the girls. This is an awesome awesome 90's 2000's movie. Check out Road Trip!
